Huntington Congregational Church

United Church of Christ

This Week April 7, 2020

Dear Folks,

I hope you all can take some time to go outside, feel the sunshine, and breathe in the fresh air.  Just be.

We are in Holy Week, the oddest Holy Week we’ve every experienced.  But, even though we are apart in body, we are together in spirit as we walk the Passion road with Jesus to the triumph of Easter morning.

Wednesday. April 8:  Lenten Devotionals via Zoom at 7 P.M.  We will be taking a look at Matthew 21:12-17 and having some time for prayer and conversation.  I will send out a separate Zoom link later today.

Maundy Thursday, April 9:  Tenebrae Service via Zoom at 7 P.M., live streamed to Facebook (technology willing!).  I will send out a separate Zoom link tomorrow.

Good Friday, April 10:  Service at noon, live steamed on Facebook.

Easter Sunday, April 12:  Service at 9:30 A.M., live streamed on Facebook.  The scriptures are Colossians 3:1-4 and Matthew 28:1-10.  The sermon is “Celebration Delayed”.

I will no longer post Zoom links on public forums, i.e. Facebook, Twitter, or our website, due to security concerns.

Streamed services will be saved to Facebook and YouTube (if able) for later viewing.

Thank you all for your patience as we try to figure this whole thing out.

Please continue to support HCCUCC with your contributions.  Now more than ever, our mission of being the beacon of love and light on the Huntington Green and beyond is vital.  Contributions sent in by mail are welcome. Please consider donating at our website,www.huntingtonucc.org. The GIVEPLUS app can be downloaded on your cell phone.  Electronic Fund Transfer giving is also available.  Please email the church, hcc@snet.net if you would like a form to set that up. However you choose to give will be a blessing and greatly appreciated.

Let us pray.  O Holy God, may your presence be with us during this Holy Week.  Help us to feel the presence of our family in faith as we walk along with Jesus.  Help us to know we are not alone.  Amen.

In Christ’s love,

Rev. Lucille
