Huntington Congregational Church

United Church of Christ

This Week October 26, 2021

Dear Folks,

Stay dry and safe!!

This Sunday, October 31, is the Twenty-Third Sunday after Pentecost and All Hallows Eve.  We will be having a special service, “Honoring Our Deceased Loved One”.  Please send me the names of the loved ones you would like to honor no later than Thursday, October 28th.  You can send me them by church email at hcc@snet.net, or by my personal email at revluce23@ comcast.net, or drop it off in our black mailbox which is our office box outside the church. Please note that unless you specifically wish it, I will not be using last names because of the very public nature of our live- stream worship.  Thank you!

The Valley Food Bank at Spooner House is running low on food.  Specifically needed items are:  shelf stable milk and powdered milk, pancake mix and syrup, peanut butter and jelly, canned fruit and applesauce, garbanzo and navy beans, canned tuna and chicken, oatmeal and other cereals, and pasta sauce.  There will be a box in the Alcove and also the “wishing well” in Fellowship Hall for your donations.  Please be generous!

The 2021 Pumpkin and Holly Fair will be held on Friday, November 19, 2021, 5:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, November 20, 9:30 a.m.  – 2:30 a.m.  Please watch for a Sign-up Genius to tell us how you can help out this year. Please consider being a part of this church tradition!

The Early Riser Open AA meeting will be meeting every Saturday in Fellowship Hall at 7:00-8:00 a.m. with exception of P&H Fair weekend.

Please continue to support HCCUCC with your contributions. Now more than ever, our mission of being the beacon of love and light on the Huntington Green and beyond is vital. Contributions sent in by mail are welcome. Please consider donating at our website, huntingtonucc.org. Please email the church, hcc@snet.net if you would like a form to set that up. Any way you give is a blessing and is greatly appreciated.

Let us pray.  O God, when the storms around us are raging, may we find a safe harbor in your love.  Amen.

In Christ’s love,

Rev. Lucille
