Valley Refugee Resettlement Project
Huntington Congregational Church, UCC and other organizations and individuals will be partnering to resettle refugee families across the lower Naugatuck Valley.
The Project was conceived by the Generosity Committee of the Huntington Congregational church, UCC and is in its organizational state. The intention is to become an approved resettlement group under the guidance and auspices of IRIS, Integrated Refugee & Immigrant Service of New Haven.
To make this project a success we need at least 30 volunteers from across the valley. Volunteers are required to take 3 online training sessions.
Please join us at our informational orientation meeting on Sunday, May 15, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of Huntington Congregational Church, 19 Church Street.
We are seeking volunteers to help:
- Teach English as a second language
- Drive to appointments
- Set up housing
- Obtain supplies
- Apply for jobs
- Teach driving skills
- Arrange medical care appointments
- and so much more!
