May you feel the presence of God as you walk through Holy Week.
The final 2025 Quiet Hour will be Wednesday, April 16 at 10 a.m. in the library.
On Maundy Thursday, April 17, the Lord’s Supper will be at 6:30 P.M. in Fellowship Hall, reservations only. Tenebrae will be at 7:45 P.M. in the Sanctuary. All are invited.
The Good Friday, April 18 service will be at noon. Both the Tenebrae and Good Friday services will be live streamed on Facebook and will be available for later viewing on Facebook and YouTube.
Easter Sunday, April 20, begins with our Community Easter Sunrise Service, 6 A.M. and Jones Family Farm. The scripture is Mark 16:1-8. The homily is “Pick Your Own Adventure”. I will be preaching.
Our 9:30 A.M. Easter service at HCCUCC will include our Choir and Sacred Dancers. The scripture is John 20:1-8. The sermon is “Called by Name”. The service will be live streamed on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/HCCUCC and will be available for viewing on Facebook and YouTube later on Sunday.
On April 26, we will be holding the Second Annual Shredding Event and Food Drive in the church parking lot from 9:00 a.m. to Noon. Rain or shine. Please save your important papers and documents and bring them on that day. The cost will continue to be $10.00 per average box or bag. We cannot dispose of bags or boxes, so you must take them home. Also, no paper clips or metal items can be shredded. We are collecting non-perishable, non-expired food items for the Valley Food Back at Spooner House. A portion of the profits from this event will be given to Bridgeport Rescue Mission.
The 15th Annual Treasures, Talents, and tastes Auction will be held on Saturday, May 10th, 6:00 pm in Fellowship Hall. There will be various auction types: Live Auction, Silent Auction, and Bag Auction. There is a $10.00 per person registration fee. A portion of the registration fee will once again go to support Spooner House and each registrant will receive three tickets for use in the bag auction. Registration forms are on the Auction table in the alcove and on our website: www.huntingtonucc.org
Our Outdoor HCCUCC Clean-up Day is May 3, 9 A.M. to noon. Rain date, May 10.
We are starting early! Backpack are needed for Women’s Fellowship’s Back-to-School Drive for our Shelton schools.
VRRP is still active and investigating other avenues to bring the family to safety. Please watch for updates.
There is a sign-up sheet in the Alcove for those willing to be the Lay Leader on the first Sundays of the month. Please consider helping out!
The Valley Food Bank at Spooner House – There is a list of needed items in the Alcove. Please pick up a copy. Please use the box in the Alcove for donations. The Blessing Box is in need of constant restocking. Our Spooner House Meal is on the 3rd Tuesday of each month. Questions? See Holly or Gerry Fassbender.
Funds for Clean-up Buckets Urgently Needed. There are clean-ups happening still from flooding, tornados, and wildfires We are collecting monetary donations for Church World Service clean-up buckets. Please make checks out to HCC with “Buckets” on the memo line, then drop your donation in the bucket on Sundays, or use the on-line option on our website.
Please continue to support HCCUCC with your contributions. Now more than ever, our mission of being the beacon of love and light on the Huntington Green and beyond is vital. Contributions sent in by mail are welcome. Please consider donating at our website, www.huntingtonucc.org. Electronic Fund Transfer giving is also available.
