Dear Folks, What a beautiful day! Enjoy! Our annual Community Tag Sale is this Saturday, June 7, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. weather permitting. Donations for the Women’s Fellowship table are welcome. Spaces are still available. We need volunteers to help set up on Friday afternoon around 3:00, and we need help at the church table on Saturday. Any time you can give us would be appreciated. We can also use baked goods that can be dropped off in the kitchen on Friday or brought to church Saturday. Please, if you can help, please contact Denise Wilson at 203 218-7553. Thank you! This Sunday, June 8 is Pentecost, the “birthday” of the Christian Church. The scripture is Acts 12:1-21. The sermon is “Wind and Fire”. Please be sure to wear red. The service will be live streamed on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/HCCUCC and will be available for viewing on Facebook and YouTube later on Sunday. Strengthen the Church Offering furthers the work of our conferences and the national UCC as we work together to strengthen and renew existing congregations, fund leadership development, and provide exciting new programs for youth and young adults. The offering is divided with 50% staying regionally within your conference and 50% supporting the National Ministries. The 2025 offering date is JUNE 8. Offering envelopes are in the pews. We will be honoring our graduates and handing out higher education scholarships on Graduate Sunday, June 15th. Church World Service Kid’s Kits: Women’s Fellowship will be collecting items for “Kid’s Kits” (formerly School kits), during June & July. The following are needed: boxes of 12 colored pencils, 2 pocket folders, glue sticks, round-tip scissors, 70 count spiral bound notebooks, 30 centimeter/12” rulers, hand-held pencil sharpeners, large erasers (not pencil cap), unsharpened pencils with erasers, boxes of 24 crayons. The donation box is in the Alcove. Questions? See Lois Ricker. Backpack are needed for Women’s Fellowship’s Back-to-School drive for our Shelton schools. Other wish list items: plastic water bottles, 3 subject notebooks, plastic two pocket folders, pencils. The donation box is in the Alcove. VRRP is still active and investigating other avenues to bring the family to safety. Please watch for updates.
The Valley Food Bank at Spooner House – There is a list of needed items in the Alcove. Please pick up a copy. Please use the box in the Alcove for donations. The Blessing Box is in need of constant restocking. Our Spooner House Meal is on the 3rd Tuesday of each month. Questions? See Holly or Gerry Fassbender.
Funds for Clean-up Buckets Urgently Needed. There are clean-ups happening still from flooding, tornados, and wildfires We are collecting monetary donations for Church World Service clean-up buckets. Please make checks out to HCC with “Buckets” on the memo line, then drop your donation in the bucket on Sundays, or use the on-line option on our website.
Please continue to support HCCUCC with your contributions. Now more than ever, our mission of being the beacon of love and light on the Huntington Green and beyond is vital.
