Hope you are all staying cool and hydrated!
Our Vitality Team will once again be handing out free bottled water and our Men’s Group will be selling hot dogs each Wednesday in summer during the Concert on the Green. Donations of bottled water are greatly appreciated! Please put water in the Fellowship Hall or Reuman House and mark it with COG. Also, everyone is welcome to help!
This Sunday is the Sixth Sunday after Pentecost and is an Outdoor Worship. We will gather in the parking lot near the kitchen door. Please bring a chair and wear a favorite place T-shirt. (I did announce the wrong T-shirt on Sunday!) In case of rain or intense heat, we will be in the Sanctuary. The scripture is Luke 10:38-42. The sermon is “Work and Word”.
Backpack are needed for Women’s Fellowship’s Back-to-School drive for our Shelton schools. Other wish list items: plastic water bottles, 3 subject notebooks, plastic two pocket folders, pencils.
Women’s Fellowship is collecting items for Church World Service “Kid’s Kits” (formerly School kits), during June & July. Items needed: boxes of 12 colored pencils, 2 pocket folders, glue sticks, round-tip scissors, 70 count spiral bound notebooks, 30 centimeter/12” rulers, hand-held pencil sharpeners, large erasers (not pencil cap), unsharpened pencils with erasers, boxes of 24 crayons. The Valley Food Bank at Spooner House – There is a list of needed items in the Alcove. Please use the box in the Alcove for donations. The Blessing Box also needs to be stocked. Our Spooner House Meal is on the 3rd Tuesday of each month. Questions? See Holly or Gerry Fassbender.
We are collecting monetary donations for Church World Service clean-up buckets. The need is urgent! Please make checks out to HCC with “Buckets” on the memo line, then drop your donation in the bucket on Sundays, or use the on-line option on our website.
Please continue to support HCCUCC with your contributions. Now more than ever, our mission of being the beacon of love and light on the Huntington Green and beyond is vital. Contributions sent in by mail are welcome. Please consider donating at our website, www.huntingtonucc.org. Electronic Fund Transfer giving is also available.
