14th Annual Treasures, Talents and Tastes Auction- May 11th 6 P.M. at HCCUCC

Everyone has a talent or treasure.  We hope you will share yours with the church by making a donation to the auction. The Auction has been a great success due, in large part, to the wonderful and creative donations made by church members. If you need an idea, please speak to Bob or Linda Sember and look through previous years’ catalogues. The catalogues are located on the table in the alcove along with registration forms, donation forms and absentee bidding forms.  Please get your donations in as soon as possible so that they are included in the catalogue.  There is a $10.00 per person registration fee. Pre-registration is necessary so we may plan accordingly for the hors d’oeuvres and desserts which will be served.

A portion of the fee will go to support Bridgeport Rescue Mission. You will also receive 3 tickets for the bag auction with your paid registration. It will be an evening of FUN and FUND raising for our church, so be sure to invite your friends and neighbors. There’s something for everyone and every budget from delicious food to talents, treasures, and services.

For those of you who cannot attend the auction but would like to participate, there are Absentee Bidding Forms available in the alcove which explains the rules. Essentially, you pre-register so we can give you an auction number. A designated absentee bidder will be assigned to bid for items on your behalf up to your maximum bid. (Auction items will be in the catalogue and online and will be available the week of the auction.)

Absentee Bidding Rules and Form

If you cannot attend the 2024 Huntington Congregational Church UCC Treasures, Talents and Tastes Auction but want to bid anyway, you can!

 In addition to the general guidelines and rules for the Auction, these rules govern absentee bidding:

Absentee Bidding Rules

  • Absentee bidders must register for the Auction at a reduced fee of $5.00.
  • All Absentee bids will be treated fairly and in the strictest confidence. In the case of same-amount bids, precedence will be given to the absentee form submitted earliest as determined by the postage cancellation date.
  • If your bid/purchase is successful, you will receive a bill. Payment is due upon receipt.
  • Once your payment is received, you will be sent your receipt and arrangements will be made for you to claim your item.
  • For Live Auction bids, the Designated Absentee Bidder (D.A.B.) will begin bidding at roughly half your maximum bid offering. If bidding ceases below the amount you bid, you will be the buyer at the next raise above the last bid from the audience.  It is possible to purchase items below your stated limit.
  • For the Silent Auction, your initial bid will be placed by the D.A.B. as quickly as possible after the opening call announcement. Your final bid (if over the maximum bid on the sheet) will be placed roughly five minutes before the Silent Auction closes and may be overbid by those physically present.
  • Tickets for the Bag Auction may be purchased and will be placed as directed. 10 tickets-$10, 25 tickets-$20
  • A.B.s will be selected by the Absentee Bidder Coordinator
