This Sunday, June 15, is Trinity Sunday. Happy Faither’s Day! It’s also our Graduate Sunday! We will be honoring our grads and handing out scholarships. The scripture is Proverbs 8:1-4, 22-31. The sermon is “Wisdom Cries Out”. The service will be live streamed on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/HCCUCC and will be available for viewing on Facebook and YouTube later on Sunday.
Church World Service Kid’s Kits: Women’s Fellowship will be collecting items for “Kid’s Kits” (formerly School kits), during June & July. The following are needed: boxes of 12 colored pencils, 2 pocket folders, glue sticks, round-tip scissors, 70 count spiral bound notebooks, 30 centimeter/12” rulers, hand-held pencil sharpeners, large erasers (not pencil cap), unsharpened pencils with erasers, boxes of 24 crayons. Backpack are needed for Women’s Fellowship’s Back-to-School drive for our Shelton schools. Other wish list items: plastic water bottles, 3 subject notebooks, plastic two pocket folders, pencils. The donation box is in the Alcove.
Our Vitality Team will once again be handing out free bottled water and our Men’s Group will be selling hot dogs each Wednesday in summer during the Concert on the Green (Music under the Stars). Donations of bottled water are greatly appreciated! Please put water in the Fellowship Hall and mark it with COG. Also, everyone is welcome to help! The schedule is not available yet, but I will let you know as soon as I can as to the starting date.
The Valley Food Bank at Spooner House – There is a list of needed items in the Alcove. Please pick up a copy. Please use the box in the Alcove for donations. The Blessing Box is in need of constant restocking. Our Spooner House Meal is on the 3rd Tuesday of each month. Questions? See Holly or Gerry Fassbender.
Funds for Clean-up Buckets Urgently Needed. There are clean-ups happening still from flooding, tornados, and wildfires We are collecting monetary donations for Church World Service clean-up buckets. Please make checks out to HCC with “Buckets” on the memo line, then drop your donation in the bucket on Sundays, or use the on-line option on our website.
Please continue to support HCCUCC with your contributions. Now more than ever, our mission of being the beacon of love and light on the Huntington Green and beyond is vital. Contributions sent in by mail are welcome. Please consider donating at our website, www.huntingtonucc.org. Electronic Fund Transfer giving is also available.
