Hope you are all well.
This Sunday, June 22, is the Second Sunday after Pentecost. The scripture is I Kings 19:1-15a. The sermon is “ORDINARY TIME”. The service will be live streamed on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/HCCUCC and will be available for viewing on Facebook and YouTube later on Sunday.
Sunday, June 29, will be an Outdoor Worship. We will gather in the parking lot near the kitchen door. Please bring a chair and wear an inspirational T-shirt. In case of rain, we will be in the Sanctuary.
Our Vitality Team will once again be handing out free bottled water and our Men’s Group will be selling hot dogs each Wednesday in summer during the Concert on the Green (Music under the Stars). Donations of bottled water are greatly appreciated! Please put water in the Fellowship Hall and mark it with COG. Also, everyone is welcome to help! The first concert is June 25. The next will be July 9 then through August 27.
The sixth annual F.A.D.E. (Fight Against Drugs Everywhere) 5k walk/run and candlelight memorial will be held on Thursday June 26, 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Shelton Pavillion and Riverwalk. This even was founded by our member, Julie Markarian. All proceeds are to benefit BHCare’s Alliance for Prevention and Wellness.
Church World Service Kid’s Kits: Women’s Fellowship will be collecting items for “Kid’s Kits” (formerly School kits), during June & July. The following are needed: boxes of 12 colored pencils, 2 pocket folders, glue sticks, round-tip scissors, 70 count spiral bound notebooks, 30 centimeter/12” rulers, hand-held pencil sharpeners, large erasers (not pencil cap), unsharpened pencils with erasers, boxes of 24 crayons. Backpack are needed for Women’s Fellowship’s Back-to-School drive for our Shelton schools. Other wish list items: plastic water bottles, 3 subject notebooks, plastic two pocket folders, pencils. The donation box is in the Alcove.
The Valley Food Bank at Spooner House – There is a list of needed items in the Alcove. Please pick up a copy. Please use the box in the Alcove for donations. The Blessing Box is in need of constant restocking. Our Spooner House Meal is on the 3rd Tuesday of each month. Questions? See Holly or Gerry Fassbender.
