There are two Lenten gatherings happening on Wednesdays in Lent.  If anyone is interested, please contact the church via Facebook, email, or phone.

This coming Sunday, March 5, is the Second Sunday in Lent.  The scripture is Matthew 6:9-13.  The sermon is on The Lord’s Prayer.  We will be celebrating Holy Communion. 

Corned Beef & Cabbage Dinner -Women’s Fellowship’s Annual Corned Beef & Cabbage Dinner is on Sunday, March 19th at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults & $8 for children 10 and under. Hot dog dinners: 2 hot dogs w/vegetables-$10.00; 1 hot dog w/chips-$4.00. Tickets will be on sale after worship, or you may call Linda Sember at 203-929-5853. Proceeds will benefit the church’s Operating Budget!!!!

Women’s Fellowship will be preparing & selling Manhattan & New England Clam Chowder plus a variety of homemade breads. To place your order, sign up on the sheet in the alcove or call Linda Sember at 203-929-5853. Pick-ups will be on Sunday, March 5th and Sunday, April 2nd. The Chowder is $12.00 a quart. The prices of the homemade breads vary.

Valley Refugee Resettlement Project is ready to settle a well vetted refugee family! Volunteers & donations welcome! Please drop your donation in the basket on Sundays or use the on-line option on our website. For more info, contact the church.

Funds for Clean-up Buckets Needed – Women’s Fellowship is collecting monetary donations for Church World Service Clean up buckets. Checks may be made out to HCC with “Buckets” on the memo line. You can drop your donation in the bucket on Sundays or you can use the on-line option on our website. The need now is urgent.

The Valley Food Bank at Spooner House – Items Needed: shelf stable milk and powdered milk, pancake mix and syrup, peanut butter and jelly, canned fruit and applesauce, garbanzo and navy beans, canned tuna and chicken, oatmeal and other cereals, and pasta sauce.  There is a box in the Alcove for donations. Also, our Blessing Box needs to be stocked, but during the winter, please do not put canned or jarred items, only things that won’t freeze. Please be generous!

Please continue to support HCCUCC with your contributions.  Now more than ever, our mission of being the beacon of love and light on the Huntington Green and beyond is vital.
