Huntington Congregational Church

United Church of Christ

This Week August 31, 2021

Dear Folks,

Hope you are all well!

This Sunday, September 5, is the Fifteenth Sunday after Pentecost.  We will be celebrating Holy Communion.  The scripture is James 2:1-10.  The sermon is “No Distinctions”.    We will be worshiping in person and also live streaming on Facebook, 9:30 A.M.

With the rise of COVID cases, masks are required in the church building for everyone.  Let’s keep everyone safe!

Our Outdoor Worship and Pizza Picnic will be held on Sunday, September 12, 4 P.M. at HCCUCC, lower parking lot near the kitchen. There will be no morning worship.  The 4 P.M. worship will be live streamed. It will be a pizza dinner.  Reservations are required so we know how much food to get. Please sign up in person on Sunday, or call the church office and leave a message, 203-929-1223. The cost us $8 per person or $16 per family.  You may the day of the picnic.  The rain date is Sept. 19.

We are in our Season of Generosity for 2022. This year’s theme is “We Are All a Piece of the Quilt”. “In Gathering Sunday” is September 26.  Please watch for your Faith Promise packets.  If anyone would like to do a live Generosity Moment or make a video, please contact me.  Thank you!

Please continue to support HCCUCC with your contributions.  Now more than ever, our mission of being the beacon of love and light on the Huntington Green and beyond is vital. Contributions sent in by mail are welcome. Please consider donating at our  website,  www.huntingtonucc.org. The VANCO MOBILE app can be downloaded on your cell phone. Electronic Fund Transfer giving is also available. Please email the church, hcc@snet.net if you would like a form to set that up. Any way you give is a blessing and is greatly appreciated.

Let us pray.  O God, sometimes the troubles of our world are so overwhelming.  Please hold us tightly in your love, reminding us of your ever present presence.  Amen.

In Christ’s love,

Rev. Lucille
