Dear Folks,

Happy June!!

This Sunday is June 3, the Second Sunday After Pentecost. The scripture is Mark 2:23-3:6. The sermon is “Right or Kind”. We will be celebrating Holy Communion,

Will we also be taking our Emergency Assistance Fund (EAF) offering. The Mission Committee developed EAF to assist people within the Shelton community and/or our church community who have an urgent, unexpected need for financial assistance. EAF yellow offering envelopes are available in the pews. Thank you for your generosity!

Following our service this Sunday, in Fellowship Hall at 11:30, we will be hosting, in conjunction with St. Paul’s, a program on the opioid crisis in our area. The presenter is Pam Mautte, the BHCare Division Director of the Alliance for Prevention and Wellness. Please join us for this timely topic. It will last 1 hour at the most. Refreshment will be served.

Women’s Fellowship’s Annual Outdoor Tag & Bake Sale is scheduled for Saturday, June 9th from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the church parking lot. The cost is $20 per spot and/or donate your proceeds to Women’s Fellowship for their projects/missions. Having so many people together prompts more people to browse. We will also be looking for bake sale items. For more information, call Denise Wilson at 203-929-2656 or email purplepoodle23@yahoo.com.

We want to hear from graduates of high school, vocational school, and colleges (both under-graduate and graduate degrees) to recognize them at our June 17th worship service. We will need the names for the Graduate Sunday bulletin. Please contact Karen at 203-929-1223.

This year, VBS’s theme is Rolling River Rampage. We will be learning God’s words and works Monday, June 25 thru Thursday, June 28 from 5:30-7:45pm. If you’d like to volunteer to help during VBS, contact Kirsten Keith, 203-929-4225, if you’re able to help in any way.

Our next “LEO” (Let’s Eat Out) will be on Wednesday, June 13th, 6:30 p.m. at Wild Kanji, 514 Bridgeport Ave, Shelton. Please sign up in the alcove. The more the merrier!

We will be participating in a Habitat for Humanity workday on Saturday, June 30th. Please watch for the signup sheet in the alcove. Each person is now required to register so please contact Bob Moseley, 203-925-0383, for a form.

Please take note of the poster in the Alcove with suggested items for the Valley Food Bank bin in Fellowship Hall. Of course, all items are gratefully accepted, but the Missions Committee put together a list that attempts to target items that may be needed more during certain seasons or months. The item for June is canned tuna. The need is great, so please be generous!

Let us pray. O God, may you brighten our lives with the power of your Spirit that even when the sun is not shining. Help us always to know that even if we do not see your presence and power, you are there, offering us strength, wisdom, and guidance. Amen.

In Christ’s love,

Rev. Lucille
